Indonesia has re-introduced its newest weapon system in the field of maritime defense, namely the presence of a fast missile ship Trimaran KRI Golok – 688. This ship is produced by Indonesia through PT Lundin Industry Invest Banyuwangi, East Java, which was just inaugurated on Friday /14/01/ 2022. The ship KRI Golok – 688 will be used by the Indonesian navy as a military operation ship for war, as well as for military operations other than war, because of its stealth capabilities that are difficult to detect by opponents.
KRI Golok 688 has a length: 62.53 meters, width: 16 meters, and height: 18.7 meters. Even though it has a weight of 53.1 tons, this ship is able to accelerate with a maximum speed of 28 knots, and a cruising speed of up to 16 knots. KRI Golok-688 is made using composite materials which are known to be very strong against corrosion, lightweight, also equipped with a 30 mm cannon and a 12.7 mm gun, and can carry up to 25 crew members. Having high speed and high destructive power, the ship is expected to be able to implement hit and run missile fast ship tactics.
Dengan suksesnya pembuatan kapal siluman KRI Golok – 688 menjadi kebanggaan tersendiri, karena hanya sedikit negara yang mampu membuat kapal serupa. Semoga menjadi awal yang baik bagi industri kelautan Indonesia kedepannya.
